Almost there!
Well, here we are at 38 weeks. Doctor says I have dilated 2 centimeters. I hope Kaleb decides to make an appearance soon. His kicking is relentless. But he is healthy and so am I. I have mixed feelings about the upcoming delivery. I just wish the pain would start so I can deal with it instead of thinking about dealing with it.
Here are a couple of pictures of my belly. I know they have been a long time coming.
Allan is very excited about meeting his son.
We thank you for your prayers.
Joanne and Kaleb. (And Allan too)

Well, here we are, Kaleb and I at 29 weeks. Feeling good. Well, sleepy. Kaleb started kicking me all night long no matter what side I was on. That was not good for me. But after a few days of that, he decided to let mommy get some rest. So now he only kicks a little at night. I am still sleepy all day because I have to get up just about every hour at night. My hips started bothering me and then I started getting the round ligament pain in my belly. The ligaments are stretching.
So I did some research and found a Chiropractor who specializes in helping pregant women. She is helping ease the pain and showing me stretches that will help as well. I am feeling a lot better. This should also help the baby get into the right position for labor.
Speaking of labor, Allan and I have finished 2 of our lamaze classes. We have two left. We watched the dreaded birth video at the last class. Allan did alot better than most of the other guys in the class. He was a bit nervous about watching it, because it was going to show everything. It was kind of gross. I realized that I don't want a mirror during the birth.
The classes are very informative and I am glad Allan seems to enjoy them. I will probably forget everything they are teaching me, but Allan will remember. I hope.
I have started feeling the Braxton Hicks Contractions. Very strange. It's like I have no control over my own body anymore. Well, the thought that I have ever had control over my body is most likely an illusion.
Allan has finally seen and felt the baby move in my belly. He was very excited. At first, he thought it was just gas. But it was so cute watching Allan watch my belly.
Until next time, be well.

Glucose Testing
Hello there,
Here we are at 25 weeks. Almost 7 months now. Allan and I will start our Lamaze classes on Oct 1st for 4 weeks. I am excited about them. Allan is not so sure. We have decided to try and have this baby naturally. Well, Allan decided that I should have the baby naturally and I told him that when a baby comes out of his ***** then he can do it naturally. Just kidding. I would like to try the natural route, but come hour number 6 of labor (if it takes that long) all bets are off and I am going for the sweet stuff.
Today I am going in for my glucose test. I get to drink some wonderful sugar syrup. In five minutes. I am not a chugger so hopefully, I can keep this down.
Baby Kaleb still kicks quite a bit and now I can see my stomach moving when he does. Allan has felt Kaleb kick once. He is feeling a bit jealous that I get to experience all this stuff. I wonder if he will still be jealous in the delivery room.
Until next time, be well. (That is how my doctor ends my appts) I guess being well is a state of mind.
Love, Joanne

Baby Kaleb James

Yeah, we are having a baby boy!!!!! He looks so cute already. Moving around like nobody's business. He likes pointing at things and turning somersaults. Right now he is kicking my sides and back. (I checked with the doctor and she said that is normal) It isn't gas like Allan keeps telling me.
We are so excited to have a boy. Allan's face jut beamed when we found out. I am 5 months along now and feeling great.
We are getting ready to go and visit Allan's brother in DC before I get too big. (I am finally showing by the way. ) We plan on just eating our way across DC.

4 Months Prego!
I have made it to 4 months. YEAHHHH!!!! Nothing too terribly exciting happening. I think I may have started feeling the baby move but it could be gas. I had an appointment last week and the heartbeat is very strong. I am still tired ALL THE TIME, and I still frequent the restroom every hour or so. (Every 2 hours at night, like clockwork)
Heartburn is the tough symptom I am dealing with these days. But the doctor said there is nothing wrong with taking Tums. Milk also works but I have noticed that milk is starting to make me sick to my stomach now. Hmmmm.
Allan is doing well. He says he is already in love with this baby. He talks to the baby alot. Which can be annoying when I am trying to sleep. We both cannot wait until August 6th. That is the ultrasound appt where we find out boy or girl.
I think I am leaning towards wanting a girl. But I think that I am having a boy. A boy would be awesome too. I know he would look like Allan. Oh my, I can't imagine two of him. I would be outnumbered.
My next post will let you know.

Moving Day!!!
Hello all,
Sunday is the day we move into our 2 bedroom apartment. This is the home where Baby V will spend the first several months of his/her life. I am so excited to start decorating the nursery. Allan and I have been in the one bedrom apartment for 4 years now. Amazing how much junk we piled up in that time. Moving has been a good chance to purge all that stuff. Of course, Allan will probably not like that some of those purged items are video games. (Shhhhh) I remember when I moved out of the dorms at college that I had 6 boxes to my name. All my stuff fit in those 6 boxes. A lot has changed since then. I don't even think that all of Allan's socks will fit in 6 boxes.
Okay, so now some baby news. I am finishing my 14th week and I won't find out until week 18 if the baby is a girl or boy. Allan keeps having dreams about a baby girl. We have fun thinking about what life will be like and how much sleep we are going to get after the baby.
I am still feeling great. Started showing a bit more. I have to go buy my first pair of maternity jeans this weekend. Bring it on!
Love to you all,
Joanne and Baby V
